MYTON, Duchesne County — A Missouri man was critically injured after he was ejected from his motorcycle during a crash Monday.
Jerry Lacy, of Jackson, Mo., was towing a small trailer behind his motorcycle when he slowed down behind a tractor-trailer truck on U.S. 40 just north of Myton about 9:40 a.m., Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Hull said.
The motorcycle trailer's tail lights were not working, Hull said, and the driver of a pickup truck behind Lacy ran into the back of the motorcyclist.
Lacy, 69, was thrown from his bike. He was taken to Uintah Basin Medical Center with a broken collarbone, Hull said, then flown to a Salt Lake City area hospital after doctors discovered a possible skull fracture.
Lacy was not wearing a helmet, Hull said. His medical condition Tuesday was unknown.
Neither Lacy nor the driver of the pickup, 33-year-old Lance Carpenter of Vernal, are expected to receive a citation, the sergeant said.
