FARMINGTON — An 83-year-old man is recovering in the hospital after he was hit by a van while riding a moped.
The accident happened near 800 South and 200 East in Farmington just after 10 p.m. Thursday. Police said the man was heading north on 200 East when the van pulled out onto the street and they crashed.
The moped driver was flown to University of Utah Hospital with serious injuries.
Sgt. Dave Quinley with the Farmington Police Department said poor vision may have played a role in the accident.
Police are still investigating and have not issued any citations, but it appears the moped rider was in the lane where he should have been.
