Marc Giauque and Sandra Yi reporting Police have released a composite sketch of a shooting suspect. He killed someone in an apparent case of road rage, last week.

The man police are looking for shot and killed a man while driving in the Fort Union area last week. Police hope someone knows who he is.

"Right now, we're focusing on random road rage homicide," Midvale Police Sgt. John Salazar said.

It's been an exhaustive investigation. They've had about 100 leads, all of which have led nowhere.

But police hope the composite sketch they released today will change that. They want people to take a good look at it. "Maybe they know this gentleman. He hasn't been using his truck for the last couple of days. Something we just need it to jar the public's mind. We need help in solving this case," Salazar said.

Police say the suspect shot and killed 43-year-old Frank Saucedo in a fit of road rage. Saucedo was a passenger in a car that was leaving a strip mall parking lot. The driver told Eyewitness News that a Toyota Tacoma cut them off and words were exchanged.

The suspect followed them to 700 East, pulled out a gun, and fired two shots. Saucedo was hit in the back of the head.

Police say the truck is dark green with an extended cab. It's a 1999-2004 model TRD Toyota Tacoma truck, with a white Ski Utah license plate. Investigators say there are 177 trucks like it in Salt Lake County. They're looking at driver's license photos of each registered owner, and their sons.

"This crime may be solved through technology, through record systems, databases," Salazar said.

Police are also looking at a database to see if anyone with a green Tacoma truck purchased a .40-caliber gun in the past five years. That's because they found a .40-caliber casing in the area.

If you have any information, call Midvale police at 840-4000.
