TOOELE — A man who got out of his pickup truck on I-80 near Tooele was hit by a semi-truck.
Utah Highway Patrol said the man was driving eastbound on I-80 near mile post 6 around 2:30 a.m. when his vehicle came to a complete stop in the right lane.
The driver got out of the pickup and was standing near the front. An approaching semi-truck, also eastbound, slowed and moved to the left lane. Somehow the semi-truck's side view mirror hit the driver of the pickup.
Emergency crews responded and said the man was talking with emergency personnel when he left the scene by ambulance.
He was transported to Delle and then air lifted to the University of Utah Medical Center. No information was immediately available on his condition.
