Man arrested after stabbing male roommate in Orem house

OREM — Orem police officers arrested a man and a woman after a fight broke out and a man was stabbed Saturday night.

Orem police received a call at 11:17 p.m. about a stabbing at 359 E. 720 North. Four individuals were living at the residence and had been drinking at the time of the incident, according to an Orem Police Department news release.

Ronald Willis, 26, provoked a fight with one of the other male roommates and attempted to hit him in the face. Two of the roommates were able to subdue Willis and took him to his bedroom. After 30 minutes, Willis left his bedroom armed with a small folding knife and attempted the stab the roommate he had the previous altercation with.

The other male roommate tried to disarm Willis while he was attempting to stab the victim, but during the struggle the victim was stabbed twice in the arm and once in the stomach. During the fight, a female roommate hid in a bedroom.

The two male roommates were able to subdue Willis after the stabbing and held him down until police arrived. When police arrived the two male victims met the officers outside the house, and Willis was arrested.

During further investigation, the female roommate, Ashley Falstad, 24, was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Willis was booked into the Utah County Jail on several charges including aggravated assault, assault,possession of marijuana, intoxication and interfering.
