SALINA, Kan. — A Kansas woman was surprised during her first trip to the circus after a tiger escaped and found her in the bathroom.

Jenna Krehbiel was washing up when another woman ran in, grabbed her daughter, told her a tiger had escaped, and ran out.

"And when I turned the corner, there was the tiger at the most two to three feet away. So, I turned back around and that's when security screamed at me to get out of the bathroom," Krehbiel told KSNW.

The big cat escaped briefly after performing for the circus. Staff members blocked off all entrances where the public could come into contact with the tiger and it wandered into the bathroom.

Krehbiel used a door to the bathroom that hadn't been blocked off. She says she stayed calm and walked out.

The tiger was returned to its cage a short time later. No one was injured.
