SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Marathon attracts thousands to the state's capital for the 26.2-mile race, along with a half marathon, 5K and bike tour.

Residents and visitors can find information on the race at the marathon's website.

The Salt Lake City Marathon has pointed out the best places from which to cheer on a runner:

- **Half & Marathon Starting Line** The University of Utah 5:45 am to 7:15 am George S. Eccles Olympic Legacy Bridge - **Foothill Village** 1300 East Foothill Boulevard 6:00 am to 7:20 am - **Sugarhouse Park** 2100 South & 1900 East 6:15 am to 9:30 am

- Holladay City Hall
4580 South 2300 East
7:45 am to 11:00 am

  • Fitts Park
    3000 South 500 East
    8:00 am to Noon

If you live near the marathon route, chances are traffic will be affected in your area. Here are the intersection closures and the estimated times of closure:

Public transportation

Early morning TRAX service will be provided Saturday for the marathon. Registered runners can ride to the starting line and return after the race by using their bib as proof of fare payment.

Family and friends of runners will need to purchase their own fare.

TRAX will follow a regular schedule, otherwise, but some bus routes will be affected. More information on impacts to the bus schedule can be found here.
