SALT LAKE CITY — Seven buildings on the University of Utah campus were evacuated Wednesday night, according to a spokesman from the Salt Lake City Fire Department.
The spokesman said a water surge caused the audible alarms to go off, and sprinklers were activated in some buildings.
However, when a KSL News photographer arrived on scene, he saw no signs of firefighter activity or evacuation.
A call to the Salt Lake City Fire dispatch center confirmed that the incident had been taken care of. Apparently the alarms were set off by a small power outage, and evacuation orders have been lifted.
