UTAH STATE PRISON — The man accused of killing three people and injuring a fourth during a shooting spree inside a suspected drug house made a brief parole hearing Wednesday on unrelated charges.
David Fresques, 25, was scheduled for a parole hearing at the Utah State Prison Wednesday on a parole violation for robbery and forgery convictions. But Fresques is also facing three new charges of aggravated murder and one count of attempted aggravated murder for a shooting spree at 8286 S. Adams St. (450 West) on Feb. 12.
Danielle Lucero, 26, Omar Jarman, 35, and Shontay Young, 34, were killed. Another woman was shot but survived. Investigators have not yet announced a motive for the shootings, but police had previously been at the house for alleged drug activity.
During the brief hearing, the heavily-tattooed Fresques, dressed in an orange prison jump suit with his hands and feet shackled, indicated that he would plead not guilty to violating his parole.
Because of the pending homicide case, Fresques' parole hearing was continued, pending adjudication of the murder charges. He was ordered to remain in state custody at the prison until then.

Wednesday's hearing was attended by Fresques' mother, Gayle Marie Fresques. She and her son exchanged only a few words after the hearing. She asked her son to write and he told her he had written her a letter the day before.
"You take care of yourself, OK?" David Fresques said before his family left the room. Both parties then said "I love you" before parting.
Outside the hearing, Gayle Marie Fresques told KSL she does not believe her son shot and killed the three victims.
"I don't believe my son did this. I don't believe my son killed women. I know he's had some problems in the past with gangs. But as far as women, he's always been respectful to women, utmost respect. My family feels very bad for the families (of) the deceased, and we're very sorry for your loss. But I believe my son is innocent."
David Fresques has served prison time previously for robbery and assault, according to court records. He served jail time for forgery, weapons, drug and other charges. He was charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication in September.
A second man, Davis Romney Fotu, 33, was arrested earlier this week for allegedly supplying Fresques with a vehicle following the shootings.
The next hearing in Fresques' case, which was recently moved to West Jordan's 3rd District Court, is scheduled for March 26.
