BILOXI, Miss. — A clever take on an obituary has gone viral after a Mississippi man's daughter wrote it as a celebration of his life, rather than a resume of his accomplishments.

Harry Weathersby Stamps died Saturday in Mississippi, leaving behind memories for his family of love, passion and a little bit of stubbornness. His daughter, Amanda Lewis, wrote his obituary during the drive from Texas to Mississippi. She described him as a "ladies' man, foodie, natty dresser, and accomplished traveler."

Stamps claimed to remember every meal he had eaten in his 80 years of life, she said. He loved women — namely, his mother, sisters, daughters and wife. "One of his regrets was not seeing his girl, Hillary Clinton, elected President," Lewis wrote.

He loved outsmarting squirrels, rebuilding houses after hurricanes and growing camellias. He wore a Hanes T-shirt, elastic-waist shorts and a grass-stained MSU baseball cap every day, took great pride in his granddaughters and stayed only at the finest AAA-rated campgrounds.

He despised know-it-all Yankees and Southerners who put on airs. He wasn't a fan of cats or Martha Stewart, either.

"He particularly hated Day Light Saving Time, which he referred to as The Devil's Time," Lewis wrote. "It is not lost on his family that he died the very day that he would have had to spring his clock forward. This can only be viewed as his final protest."

Lewis told the Sun-Herald "he wouldn't know what going viral means," but it "would have excited him to have another illness to lord over folks."
