SALT LAKE CITY — Sky View High School's Jalen Moore provided quite the drama this weekend, hitting a half-court buzzer-beater propelling the Bobcats into the 4A championship, which Sky View won on Saturday.

New York also had its own dramatic buzzer-beater.

#poll

Khalil Edney of New Rochelle High School (he's also the starting quarterback) hit a 55-foot game-winning buzzer beater from the opposite free throw line to give his team the 61-60 win over Mount Vernon in the Sectional Championship in Westchester, N.Y.

Edney threw the initial inbounds pass that was stolen, but inexplicably the Mount Vernon player tossed the ball back toward Edney — likely thinking the clock would run out — but Edney stole the ball and heaved up the shot with 0.1 seconds on the clock.

Unbelievable.

Bringing the house down

So what brings greater bragging rights? Hitting a buzzer-beater or a breaking the hoop on a dunk?

During Washington's State Tournament, St. George High School's (Not in Utah, but from Spokane) Dexter Sienko brought down the house with a monstrous dunk.

Yes, the fans went crazy, but the hoop literally came down. Collapsed. Recoiled in fear.

Sienko and his St. George teammates went onto win the game, but I'm still left wondering which brings bigger bragging rights: destroying a basketball hoop or hitting a buzzer-beater?

Tempter tantrum for the ages

Hockey players are known for their passion and toughness, but sometimes when those two mix you get an entertaining display of out-of-control behavior.

A 17-year-old Canadian junior hockey player in Ontario was less than pleased when his opponent checked him into the boards from behind.

Kingston (Ont.) Frontenacs defenseman Ryan Hutchinson began tossing haymakers at Erie (Pa.) Otters player Jake Evans.

Hutchinson was assessed a fighting major penalty and ejected from the game, but Hutchinson didn't go easy, first kicking an opponent's helmet and falling on his rump, then slamming his own helmet and concluding his tantrum by picking up a chair and heaving it in the direction of two very scared minors.

His mother must be so proud.

Mase and his mini helmets

Let me introduce you to 3-year-old Mase and his 30 NFL mini helmets.

Little Mase here, in his No. 10 RG3 Baylor jersey, rambles off all the names of the 30 NFL teams. He starts with the Lions and ends with the Packers and hits all the others in between. Even the Jagwires (Jaguars), Patriens (Patriots) and the Coats (Colts).

Sure, little Mase gets stuck on a few, but saves himself then triumphantly declares he did it with some moxy and flare.

What a champ.
