BOX ELDER COUNTY — Two men were killed when the car they were traveling in was hit head on by another vehicle Saturday night.
A GMC SUV was traveling westbound on SR-30 just after 6 p.m. when the driver began to lose control on the slick, snowy road. The SUV slid across the center line into the eastbound lane and hit a Nissan pickup truck head on.
The male driver of the Nissan, Terry Barnett, 70, and his passenger, Nicholas Barnett, 33, both suffered fatal injuries from the accident and died at the scene. Both men were residents of North Logan.
The driver of the SUV was transported to Logan Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Emergency responders said the accident was due to driving too fast for road conditions.
