SALT LAKE CITY — The Golden State Warriors have unveiled a new alternative jersey, which isn't all that unusual until you realize they have sleeves.

The short-sleeved jerseys, designed by Adidas, are made of ultra lightweight fabric and feature compression sleeves.

Thankfully the shorts aren't compression shorts, but do now feature pinstripes inspired by the Bay Bridge.

According to the San Jose Mercury-News, the team tested the jerseys in the offseason and have completed full practices in them.

The Warriors, who will be the first modern NBA team to wear jerseys with sleeves, will debut the new jerseys on February 22 at home against the San Antonio Spurs.

Oh, and get this, the new unis are made with 60 percent recycled material.

BYU feels Michigan's pain

BYU fans can feel for Michigan fans after what they experienced this weekend.

The third-ranked Wolverines were up three with 2.4 seconds left against Wisconsin, which was inbounding the ball under its own basket.

Mike Bruesewitz hit Ben Brust in stride, who then launched and nailed a half-court shot to send the game into overtime.

BYU fans won't soon forget Matthew Dellavedova's buzzer-beater that gave St. Mary's an improbable win in Provo earlier this year and started to chip away at the Cougars' NCAA resume.

Brust's heroics didn't stop there. The sharpshooter made a tie-breaking three-pointer with 40 seconds left propelling the Badgers to the 65-62 victory.

9-year old's money shot

Friday was likely the best day ever for a Canadian kid.

During a fundraiser game between the East Coast Musicians hockey team and the Canso Academy (Nova Scotia) students and staff, 9-year old Tyson Greencorn hit the shot of a lifetime.

During the event, three people were given the opportunity to hit a shot from just beyond center ice to win $5,000.

Tyson, who plays for Canso's atom squad, didn't quite get off the shot he intended, but it turned out to be the perfect shot.

Tyson slipped just as he released the puck, but, you guessed it, the puck slid in making Greencorn one wealthy 9-year-old.

Bet I know what this kid is bringing for Show-and-Tell.

Troublesome mascot

You gotta love mascots. You gotta love real living, breathing animal mascots especially when they provide some fantastic pregame entertainments.

During an ECHL hockey game this weekend between the Bakersfield Condors and the Las Vegas Wranglers the real living, breathing animal mascot got a little too squirrly for his handler and stole the show.

During the singing of the National Anthem a living, breathing condor was removed from his cage and taken to center ice by his handler. But this gigantic bird wanted nothing to do with the bright lights and thousands of fans.

Let me sum it up real quick: handler loses grip on bird, bird tries to run away, handler tries to corral the bird but instead takes a nasty spill on the ice. Bird heads to the bench and eventually down the tunnel.

All the while getting some comical play-by-play from the announcers.

Very funny.

Celebration #FAIL

After winning their third Africa Cup of Nations title, their first since 1994, by beating Burkina Faso 1-0, Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama was so excited about the win he didn't care who he was celebrating with.

Enyeama was holding the ball when the referee ran up to him, took the ball and blew the final whistle. What seemed almost instinctual, Enyeama tried to lift the ref up on his shoulders. But the ref wouldn't play along.

In fact, the ref remained surprisingly composed as Enyeama made his move, but after realizing this wasn't going to work, Enyeama quickly moved on to celebrating with his teammates.

And as a bonus clip I added the only goal scored in the match. And it was a pretty one.

In the 40th minute, midfielder Sunday Mba controlled a deflected ball just outside the box, flipped the ball over a defender's head to himself and rifled in the goal before the converging defender could get to it.
