MILLCREEK — Police are looking for a man who attempted but failed to rob a Walmart store, and later robbed a Del Taco at gunpoint Saturday night. Police say he committed another armed robbery Sunday afternoon.

Saturday, the man entered a Walmart at 6:57 p.m. and demanded cash from a clerk in the garden center. He told the clerk that he had a gun under his sweat shirt.

The clerk told the suspect that the cash register couldn't be opened unless a purchase was made. The man then tried to buy a piece of candy, but his credit card was declined. The clerk told the man that a store manager would have to be notified, and then man ran out of the store.

The man was seen leaving the Walmart in an older model, dark colored four-door Sedan.

At 8:05 p.m. the man went in to the Del Taco at 3090 S. Highland Drive. He approached the counter as if to order food, but then lifted his sweat shirt to reveal a gun and demanded money from the cashier. The clerk opened the cash register and the man grabbed the cash and ran out the door.

The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Sunday, the suspect entered a Chevron at 310 E. 3900 South and asked for some change. As soon as the drawer was opened, he showed a gun tucked into his pants. He then grabbed the cash in the drawer and fled on foot.

Though no one has been injured in the three robberies, the man has shown a gun ion two and threatened that he had a gun on another.

"These robberies always have the potential for somebody to get seriously hurt whenever somebody introduces a firearm onto the situation," Hoyal said.

The man is described as an African-American male wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt with a white logo on the left chest and a red zipper. He was also wearing black pants, black tennis shoes, and a blue lanyard.

Police think the man may have been involved in other robberies. The Unified Police Department have been unable to locate the suspect and are asking anyone with information to please contact the department at 801-743-7000.
