SALT LAKE CITY — With the recent snow storms that pounded the state, many Utahns have felt overwhelmed with poor driving conditions and shoveling sidewalks. But, the snow has also brought some positive attention and tourism.

Utahns know that the local ski resorts have the "Greatest Snow on Earth" and that fresh snow was featured on the front of three major skiing publications. Powder, SKI and Skiing magazines all feature cover photos from three different Utah resorts for the January 2013 issues.

Powder magazine's January Photo Annual features a shot by photographer Jim Harris at Alta, UT. The epitome of a Utah powder day, the photograph shows local skier Tyler Knoles snapped from the chairlift on a cloudy afternoon.

Brighton resort graces the cover of Skiing magazine's January issue. Snapped by Salt Lake City local Steve Lloyd, the unique night shot of athlete Kevin Brower took an impressive lighting set up and over six hours to get just right.

SKI magazine's January issue features "The Ultimate Powder Manual" and the cover shot, taken by Utah local Adam Barker, captures just that. Julian Carr, a local Utah athlete, had an epic powder day at Solitude, UT.

Famous for its trademarked "Greatest Snow on Earth," the average annual snowfall of 500 inches, and 11 resorts within an hour of the Salt Lake City International Airport, Utah resorts have continued to lead the rankings nationwide as a ski destination for powderhounds and families alike.
