SOUTH OGDEN — A man is in jail and another is in the hospital after the two lost control of a stolen vehicle after running a red light and hitting a second car.

Shortly after noon on Friday, a white Chevy truck was stolen from about 1800 E. 5725 South. It had been left running in the driveway of the residence, according to the South Ogden Police Department. The department was notified at 4:19 p.m. the vehicle had been spotted in the parking lot of Ogden Regional Hospital.

Deputies tried to stop the truck, at which point the driver headed north on Adams Avenue, according to police. The driver ran a red light at the intersection of Adams Avenue and SR89, hitting a Nissan Versa. The female driver of the Nissan and two juveniles received minor injuries.

After hitting the Nissan, the truck spun out of control and rolled through a parking lot next to the intersection, coming to rest on its roof in the parking lot of Goldenwest Credit Union.

Two men, both described as white males in their mid to late 20s, exited the truck and fled. One was caught in the parking lot and will be arrested upon his release from the hospital and booked into the Weber County Jail. Police are still looking for the second man.
