SALT LAKE CITY — A few small storms are headed our way, but will they be enough to make up for the snow we didn't get in November because of warm temperatures?

November started with a bang — 54 inches of snow in one storm — but since then, it has been warm: some days 17 degrees above normal, and the last day of November was 20 degrees above normal.

Hydrologist Brian McInerney, with the NWS, says our low level snow pack is basically gone.

"If you were going to try to balance it so the entire state had normal snowpack, we'd need above-normal snow amounts in December," he said.

The mountains are getting a good amount of snow, but the valley isn't. What does that mean for skiers? Find out at 5 p.m. on KSL TV.

McInerney said if the temperatures would drop, we would be OK.

"That's what we need: one storm after another," he said.

He said the state really needs the snow this year after having a dry winter last year.
