(KSL News) Murray Energy has temporarily shut down its West Ridge Mine in Carbon County.

According to the company's vice president, Rob Murray, the mine has been "idled" today due to geologic conditions that caused a high percentage of ash content in the coal currently being mined.

The mine will be shut down for approximately 48 hours while management reviews its options and devises a plan to relocate the mine's longwall.

No employees actually have been laid off.
