List of restricted areas for fireworks in Utah

This list is continually being updated. If you have more restrictions to report, please email us at news@ksl.com.SALT LAKE CITY — The recent fires have made for dangerous conditions in Utah. Considering the upcoming Independence Day and Pioneer Day holidays, fireworks restrictions have been put in place for several cities around the state.

On June 22, Governor Gary Herbert ordered that the use of all kinds of fireworks be banned in all county and unincorporated public and private lands. Many cities and counties are implementing their own specific restrictions on the use of fireworks as well.

The restrictions are being implemented for the safety of the various communities and the state as a whole.

Unified Fire Authority maintains a list for Salt Lake Valley which can be viewed here. A map is also available, which is accurate to the street level.

Bluffdale City

All areas East of Redwood Road and Camp Williams Road or anywhere within 100 feet of a dry field is prohibited. These restrictions will be enforced and anyone found violating them will be cited.

Bountiful

• Fireworks are banned in Bountiful east of Orcahrd Drive and East of 400 East (North of 500 South).
• Legal fireworks in legal areas are permitted by state law from July 1st to 7th and from July 21st to 28th only.

Brian Head

The following is prohibited:

• Setting, building, maintaining, attending or using open fires of any kind, except campfires built within the facilities provided for them in improved campgrounds, picnic areas or permanently improve places of habitation that include a spark arrestor over the fire.
• Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren or cleared to mineral soil.
• Discharging, or using any kind of fireworks, tracer ammunition or other pyrotechnic devices.
• Cutting, welding, or grinding metal in areas of dry vegetation.
• Creating or using any other sort of ignition source in any area of the municipality when the local fire official determines that hazardous environmental conditions necessitate controlling or prohibiting the use thereof.

Only persons with a permit specifically authorizing an exception or an any local, State or Federal Fire Officer or firefighting forces in the performance of an official duty are exempted.

Brigham City

• The use of fireworks/ignition are now restricted in the following areas.
  • Along the east bench (foothills) in the urban wildland interface from 1500 North to the south Brigham City boundary, more particularly described as follows:
  • Area east of residential property on Highland Blvd, 675 North, Aspen Drive, Carolyn Place, Orchard Place, Oak Place, Bott Avenue, Sycamore Circle, Sheri Circle, 1300 East, Bywater Way, and Kaylynne Circle
  • Area east of a line running due south from Highland Boulevard to Hwy 89/91
  • Area east of Hwy 89/91 from the mouth of the canyon to Michelle Drive
  • Area east of residential property on Michelle Drive
  • Brigham City Airport and surrounding areas inside of the city limits.
  • The annexed areas of the Bear River Bird Refuge (west of I-15 running along the city limit boundaries as shown on the map.
  Box Elder County and the State of Utah have already restricted the use of fireworks in the unincorporated areas surrounding Brigham City.

Cache County

Fireworks cannot be used in the following areas:

• Logan: 1. All properties East of 1600 East and North of Hwy 89. 2. All properties East of 600 East and South of Hwy 89. 3. Any property within 100 feet of undeveloped areas, city-wide. (ie. vacant lots, agriculture fields, any other dry vegetation.) 4. Do not use fireworks when wind is present.
• River Heights: All areas East of 1000 East.
• Providence: 1. All areas East of 400 East. 2. Areas South of Canyon Road and 600 South.
• North Logan: 1. All areas East of 1600 East, city- wide.
• Hyde Park: 1. All areas East of 400 East.
• Smithfield: 1. All areas North of Center Street and East of 200 East. 2. All areas South of Center Street and East of 700 East.
• Richmond: All areas east of 300 East.
• Hyrum: All areas East of 1300 East.
• Millville: All areas East of 550 East.
• Nibley: All areas East of Hollow Road.
• Wellsville: 1. All areas West of 200 West. 2. All areas South of 900 South.
• Paradise: 1. All areas East of 100 East 2. All areas West of 300 West.
• Lewiston: 1. All areas West of 2400 West 2. All areas East of 800 East
• Cache County Unincorporated areas: Based on the state restrictions fireworks are not allowed in any of the unincorporated areas of Cache County.

Cedar Hills, Utah County

• No fireworks of any kind are allowed in the hillside areas east of Canyon Road (SR 146).
• No aerial fireworks or open fires are allowed anywhere in the city.
• Non-aerial fireworks may be legally discharged within the city limits, other than on the east hillside, between the hours of 11am and 11pm on July 1-7 (July 4 - hours extended to midnight) and July 21-27 (July 24 - hours extended to midnight).

Cedar City

• Only Class C fireworks are allowed.
• Can't discharge within 20 feet of any structure
• Discharge is only allowed in these areas
  • Asphalt parking lot to the north of Bicentennial softball fields.
  • Asphalt parking lot to the west of the Cedar City aquatic center
  • The asphalt parking lot on the south side of Cedar High School
  • The asphalt parking lot on the south side of Canyon View High School
  • The asphalt parking lot at Iron Spring Elementary

Centerville

• Fireworks may be discharged July 1–7 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; July 4 until midnight; July 21–27 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and July 24 until midnight.
• Discharge of fireworks is prohibited on any undeveloped lot or on any adjacent lot.
• See city map.

Cottonwood Heights- restricted on or over any public property such as parks and schools.

• No fires and fireworks in wildland interface areas such as the foothills east of Wasatch Boulevard and Crestwood Park.
• On July 1, a state law will go into effect allowing for further restrictions in areas of heavy brush or trees, based on recommendations from city fire officials. The city council may choose to take more extensive restrictive measures at that time.

Daggett County

Due to extremely dry conditions in Daggett County, the Daggett County Commissioners have passed an Open Fire and Fireworks Restriction for all of Daggett County effective immediately.

The Freedom Festival Firework Event will still be held July 7th.

Draper- Fireworks are not allowed east of 1300 East, south of 13800 South, west of the I-15 freeway

• Around the Mehraban Wetlands Park from 1000 East at 123000 South traveling north along the city boundary to 700 East and Traveling south along 700 East to the TRAX Railroad line and following the TRAX line south to 12300 South
• Fireworks are now legal to be discharged in Utah from July 1 through July 7 and July 21 through July 27 only.
• No fireworks will be allowed to be discharged in any of the restricted areas in Draper City.
• The Draper Police Department will be strictly enforcing in the restricted areas and will have extra patrols on duty.

Eagle Mountain

• For 2012, fireworks are now legal to be used in Utah from July 1 through July 7 and July 21 through July 27 only.
• In light of the Dump Fire and continuing high wildfire danger with dry and hot weather conditions, Eagle Mountain City is banning fireworks from the following subdivisions: Lake Mountain Road, Cedar Pass Ranch, North Ranch, Ruby Valley, Lone Tree, Kiowa Valley, Eagle Top, Point Lookout, Hidden Canyon, Fremont Springs, Meadow Ranch, Valley View, and White Hills.
• All other residents who live close to perimeter streets with fields or hills adjacent to your home, please use fireworks further inward as far from potential dangers as possible.
• A map of Eagle Mountain restrictions are currently unavailable.
• Residents are encouraged to use fireworks in the City limits and to use extreme caution, limit use to concrete or asphalt surface areas not close to brush and have a water source close by.
• Extinguish and dispose of used fireworks properly.
• A map of the restricted areas will be posted soon.

Francis

• No discarge of any kind of fireworks allowed.
• No open fires allowed
• Strongly discouraged from firing Steel Jacketed bullets, incendiary bullets and tracer bullets.

Garfield County

Fireworks are banned in the town of Antimony.

Grantsville

Designated areas for fireworks:

• From Matthews Lane west to the east side of West Street
• From Clark Street to Durfee Street.

The subdivisions on the outskirts of the boundary are asked to use the interior portion of the subdivision to prevent fires from starting, as the homes on the outskirts of the subdivisions have a lot of fuel that can start fires rapidly.

Heber City

Fireworks, including Class A, B and C and open fires are prohibited in the following areas:

• East of Mill Road and North of Center Street
• North of 550 East and North of 550 North and 600 North
• Other areas where vegetation is overgrown

Highland

The Mayor and Administration request that residents refrain from ALL firework use since resources for emergency personnel are extremely limited at this time due to the Quail Fire.

• Prohibited use for fireworks above a height of 20 feet and within 200 feet from native vegetation in the following areas:
  • North, South, East and West of Park Drive;
  • North of 11800 North;
  • South from Sunset Hills Drive to Lone Rock on Bull River Drive;
  • South from Lone Rock to Ridge Drive on Skyline Drive;
  • South of Ridge Road;
  • West of 6000 West from 11000 North;
  • West of 6400 West from 10400 North to 11000 North;
  • North of 10400 North from 7000 West to 6400 West;
  • East and West of Highland Blvd (including Country French);
  • Highland Glen Park
• Any party responsible for fires set from fireworks will be responsible for cost to cover the fire.

Holden Town

All fireworks prohibited within the town boundaries.

Huntington

• All lighting of fireworks has been banned inside the city limits.
• The Heritage Days fireworks show has been cancelled.
• Under the protection of the Huntington City Fire Department, residents can gather and light fireworks on July 4 at the city park from 9:30 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.
• Infractions are punishable by a fine of$1000 or six months in jail.

City of Hurricane

• Due to the extremely high fire danger this year, the City of Hurricane has canceled its July 4 fireworks display.
• Discharge of fireworks within Hurricane City limits will be prohibited at all times except for on July 4 and July 24, between the hours of 11 a.m. and Midnight, the discharge of fireworks will be allowed at the these locations ONLY:
  • Spilsbury Park Ball field
  • American Legion Ball field
  • Three Falls Park
  • Poineer Park
• The City of Hurricane would like to remind the public that persons responsible for the ignition of a fire by fireworks, or other means, are subject to prosecution and suppression costs.

Kaysville- Class B misdemeanor for lighting fireworks in the restricted area of Kaysville until Nov. 30.

• Effective immediately the City Council has restricted the use of fireworks and open fires. Conditions exist within certain areas of the City which increase the danger of wildfire and it has been determined that discharge of fireworks and open fires will present an unreasonable risk of igniting fires. Therefore, for the preservation of public health, safety and welfare, fireworks cannot be discharged and no open fires are allowed in certain areas of the City.

Layton

In a proactive approach to preventing wildfires during these extreme fire conditions, the Layton City Fire Department is enacting a restriction on the use of aerial fireworks in portions of Layton City.

The affected areas include the following:

• East of 2000 E. from the south city limits to Cherry Lane.
• East of Fairfield Rd. north of Cherry Lane to Church St.
• East of Church St. from Fairfield Rd. to Highway 193
• East of 2400 E. from Highway 193 to the north city limits
• North of 3450 N. to the city limits, east of 2000 E.

• All fireworks are prohibited east of Highway 89 based on the 2004 City Ordinance. Layton City Code 9.64.150 allows the Fire Chief, during adverse fire conditions, to prohibit the use of fireworks in other parts of the city.

• Layton City has designated and opened up the use of Andy Adams and Sandridge Parks for the safe use of approved aerial fireworks during the legal discharge period.
• The Fire Department will be inspecting firework sales locations to ensure only legal fireworks are sold. Single shot mortars, roman candles, bottle rockets and firecrackers are still prohibited.
• Citizens with questions are encouraged to call the Layton City Fire Department at (801) 336-3940.

Lehi- Fireworks are banned in Traverse Mountain and along the Dry Creek Corridor because of the extreme fire hazard conditions those areas present. Discharging fireworks in these areas may result in a citation or fine. Also, any person that causes a fire due to negligence will be fiscally responsible for all damages.

• Fireworks can only be discharged between July 1-7, and July 21-27, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. Hours are extended to midnight on July 4, and July 24.

Lindon- Fireworks are prohibited in all city parks

• Fireworks are prohibited West of I-15
• Fireworks are prohibited East of Murdock Canal Road (approximately). See map for more details.

Midway

Effective July 1, discharge of any fireworks (including Class A, B and C) and open fires are prohibited in the following areas:

• North of Cari Lane, Burgi Lane, River Road from the round-a-bout north
• West of Homestead Drive, 400 West, 250 West
• East of Michie Lane
• South of 500 South
• Other areas where vegetation is overgrown

Residents living in the above restricted areas are welcome to come to the Town Square to use Class C fireworks such as igniters, fuses and "common fireworks", which are the smaller and less powerful fireworks available for sale to and use by the general public. Please clean up your debris from your fireworks off the Town Square.

Morgan County

• Restriction on open fires and the use of any ignition source, including fireworks, lighter, matches and smoking materials.
• Campfires may be built within facilities provided for them in improved campgrounds, picnic areas or permanently improved places of habitation.
• Smoking is allowed in enclosed buildings, vehicles, developed recreation area or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren or cleared to mineral soil.

Murray- Effective midnight June 22, 2012, the discharge of fireworks (as defined in Title 53 Chapter 7 of the Utah Code) and other ignition sources are hereby banned in the following areas of the City:

• The Murray Parkway Trail
• Within 300 feet of the Murray Parkway Trail
• Murray Park
• Within 300 feet of the Murray Park
  • Within 300 feet of Wheeler Farm (Wheeler Farm is owned by Salt Lake County and therefore subject to restrictions imposed by the Unified Fire Authority).

1. Violations of this ban shall be deemed a violation of Chapter 15.24 of the Murray City Municipal Code and are subject to the penalties provided therein.

1. All Nephi residents and visitors are asked to exercise extreme caution in their personal and family celebrations.
2. Please be aware of the extremely dry conditions, and do not discharge any fireworks within one block of any open field or other areas containing dry weeds or brush, or within one block of the Hollow.
3. All fireworks are prohibited east of I-15.
4. Nephi City, in cooperation with local fire authorities, has postponed the community fireworks show that was scheduled for the evening of July 4th. The fireworks show will be rescheduled when conditions are conducive to holding the event safely. North Salt Lake
   • The use of lighters and matches for open burning (this excludes gas fired cooking devices), the use of any ignition source or discharge of fireworks as defined in applicable Utah state code is prohibited within the areas East of Orchard Dr. from the Bountiful City boundary to the Salt Lake City boundary
   Ogden
   • The restrictions will be in effect from July 1st through July 7th 2012. Further restrictions may be put into place for the 24th of July holiday period.
   • The use of any open flame device, open fires (including recreational fires and campfires), and the use of any firework device shall be prohibited in the defined restricted areas.

     • All areas east of Harrison Boulevard from the north city boundary to the south city boundary.
     • All wooded areas along the River Parkway beginning at Harrison Blvd and continuing along the pathways to the west city boundary and the south city boundary. This also includes all associated parks along the River corridor.
     • All of Fort Buenaventura, the city baseball park and dog park area located off of A Ave.
     • The old landfill property located at approx. 2550 A Ave., near Fort Buenaventura.
     • All open fields, vacant lots, wooded areas, and brush covered hillsides throughout the city.
   • Prohibited Acts and Activities: It shall be unlawful for any person to:
     • Ignite, explode, project or otherwise fire or use, or permit the ignition, explosion, or projection of any fireworks upon or over or onto the street or public property or the property of another.
     • Ignite, explode, or otherwise make use of any fireworks within one hundred fifty feet (150') of any fireworks stand.
     • Ignite, explode, project or otherwise fire or make use of any fireworks within thirty feet (30') of any residence, dwelling or other structure, or a vertical or overhead obstruction (such as a tree, line, or structural overhang) measured from the point on the ground directly below the outermost perimeter of such obstruction.
     • Ignite or discharge any fireworks within or throw the same from a motor vehicle.
     • Place any ignited article of fireworks into or near a motor vehicle or near any person or group of people.
     • Throw any ignited article of fireworks into or at a motor vehicle, or at or near any person or group of people.
     • Ignite, explode, project, or otherwise fire or use, or assist in the ignition, explosion or projection of any fireworks in a location where such use has been prohibited by order of the fire marshal pursuant to section 2-4-17 of this code. It is a violation of this section for a person who ignites or assists in igniting fireworks in a lawful location to allow the fireworks to be launched into, projected over, or to land in a prohibited area. No person shall be prosecuted under this section when acting reasonably under authority of a permit issued by the fire marshal.
   • Any individual who violates this order is in violation of City Ordinance 11-6-2 and the International Fire Code sections 308.1.2 and 305.4, and is subject to the full penalties of the law. Violation of this order is a Class B Misdemeanor and is punishable by up to a $1000.00 dollar fine and/or up to six (6) months in jail.
   • Individuals responsible for fires that result from negligence including the parents of minors may be held accountable for the cost of damages and expenses related to firefighting efforts. See City Ordinance 12-12-3.
   • Please report all fires and fireworks that you witness in the restricted areas by calling Weber Area Consolidated Dispatch Center at 801-629-8221.
   Oneida County, Idaho There is a ban on all fireworks in Oneida County outside of the Malad City limits except for the professional show put on by the Oneida Fire district on the night of the 4th.

Orem- Fireworks are prohibited in or within 100 feet of any undeveloped areas of the city.

• Fireworks are prohibited in or within 500 feet of any National Forest or BLM lands.
• Fireworks are prohibited within the designated areas shown on the map.

Panguitch

The City of Panguitch has banned personal fireworks for the 2012 season. The City will provide a firework show July 4th at 10 PM at the city park.

Park City

The Park City Fire Service District (PCFSD) has issued geographical bans on the discharge of fireworks and open fires for the following portions of the PCFSD boundaries effective June 25, 2012:

• All canyon and trail areas.

• Aerie's Subdivision.

• Bear Hollow Subdivision.

• Canyons Resort.

• Deer Valley Area.

• Glenwild Subdivision.

• Jeremy Ranch Subdivision.

• Moose Hollow Area.

• Park City Mountain Resort.

• Pinebrook Subdivision.

• Preserve.

• Red Hawk.

• Round Valley Area.

• Silver Creek Area.

• Stage Coach Estates.

• Summit Park Area.

• Sun Peak Area.

• Thaynes Canyon.

• Timberline Subdivision.

• West side of Old Town.

• Any areas that contain dry grass or that may lead to the quick spread of fire.

Payson

• Fireworks are onlly allowed to be discharged in the following areas
  • payson City Center Parking Lots at 439 West Utah Avenue
  • Memorial Park parking lots at 200 South Main Street
  • Orchar HIll Ball Park parking lots at 700 South 800 West (Old Hillman Field)
• Violations are a class B misdemeanor and come with a $1,000 and/or up to 6 months in jail.

Piute County

The fireworks show over Otter Creek Reservoir has been canceled due to fireworks restrictions in the area

ADDITIONAL FIREWORKS INFORMATION:

• Firecrackers, M-80s, cherry bombs, bottle rockets, Roman candles, single or reloadable mortars and ground salutes are strictly prohibited.
• Aerial/Cake Fireworks: Horizontal clearance requirements of 210-feet in all directions from base of device, extending 230-feet unimpeded vertical/overhead clearance, with device being placed on a hard flat non- combustibles surface and a minimum of 150-feet distance between launch site and spectators/audience.
• Fireworks may only be discharged as noted:
  • July 1 - July 3 - 11:00 am to 11:00 pm.
  • July 4 - 11:00 am to midnight.
  • July 5 - July 7 - 11:00 am to 11:00 pm.
  • July 8 - July 20 - Discharge of Fireworks Not Permitted.
• July 21 - July 23 - 11:00 am to 11:00 pm.
• July 24 - 11:00 am to midnight.
• July 25 - July 27 - 11:00 am to 11:00 pm.

Summit County ordinances allow for the cost recovery of any expenses associated with the extinguishing of a fire caused by the negligent use of fireworks, fires, and /or the improper extinguishment of cigarettes or other smoking materials.

There will be zero tolerance for violations. Any violation of this restriction would be a class B misdemeanor and punishable by up to a $1,000.00 fine and/or up to 6 months in Jail. If you have any questions, please contact the Payson City Fire Department office at 801-465-5252 or 801-465-5200

Pleasant Grove

The use of fireworks above the Ogden Brigham Canal in Pleasant View City is prohibited this season.

Providence

Fireworks are banned throughout the entire city.

Rich County

Fire and fireworks are prohibited within Rich County and all incorporated areas in Rich County.

Rush Valley

• All fireworks are banned from July 3 at 2 p.m. until July 26 at midnight.
• Open fires, camp fires, and burning in fire pits are prohibited. Small screened enclosures are permitted, like barbeques.

Salem

Fireworks are prohibited:

• South of the Highline Canal
• East of Woodland Hills Drive;
• North of 400 North Street, except in developed subdivisions;
• Within twenty (20) feet of any building;
• Within two hundred (200) feet of any open field, unimproved lot with dry vegetation, or any vacant building with dry vegetation on the lot;
• Within two hundred (200) feet of any haystack, straw, or other flammable agricultural product.

Salt Lake City

Fireworks are banned in the following areas:

• All areas east of Foothill Drive, and east of 1300 E. to 500 S., including the University of Utah campus
• All areas north of South Temple to State Street and North Temple to 200 W.
• City Creek Canyon
• East of 200 W. / Wall Street to 300 W.
• East 300 W. north of Wall Street through Beck Street to the city limit to the north
• All city parks and wildland urban interface areas
• All areas west of I-215

Unincorporated Salt Lake County

1. In addition to the state order for unincorporated Salt Lake County, the Mayor has issued an executive order banning the use of fireworks in county-owned parks, golf courses and facilities throughout Salt Lake County.
2. Fireworks were already banned in the foothills and canyons surrounding the valley above Wasatch Boulevard on the east bench and west of U-111 on the west bench.
3. Professional fireworks displays, with the appropriate permits, are allowed throughout the valley.
4. Here is a UFA map with real time updates for fireworks banned areas.

Sandy- Using the state code, the Sandy City Council was able to adopt a new fire restriction ordinance in February of 2011 that prohibits the use of open flames, fireworks and smoking in hazardous areas of the city.

• A map of the areas affected by the ordinance is available online at www.sandy.utah.gov/fireworks. With the most recent changes in the state law, the Sandy Fire Department would also like to remind residents about changes in the selling and lighting of fireworks during the holidays.
• Fireworks are allowed to be sold from June 23 through July 27.
• Time frame for discharge:
  • July 4 - Three days before, day of and three days after, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. except for day of holiday until midnight (July 1-July 7)
  • July 24 - Three days before, day of and three days after, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. except for day of holiday until midnight (July 21-July 27)
  • New Year's Eve (Dec. 31) - from 11 a.m. until 1 a.m.
  • New Years Day (Jan. 1) Chinese New Year Eve (Feb. 9) from 11 a.m. until 1 a.m. Chinese New Year Day (Feb. 10)
• Illegal fireworks include:
  • Firecrackers
  • M-80s
  • Cherry bombs
  • Bottle-rockets
  • Roman candles
  • Single or reloadable mortars
  • Ground salutes
  • Any other explosive obtained outside of Utah borders.
• Sandy will be citing individuals who are lighting illegal fireworks or discharging within a restricted area in Sandy. The minimum fine is $500.

Santaquin

No discharge of any kind of fireworks allowed except by city officials for celebration purposes.

Smithfield

Fireworks are prohibited:

• East of 700 East from the south end of Smithfield to Center Street
• East of 200 East from Center Street to the north end of Smithfield
• Above 400 East in Hyde Park
• Throughout unincorporated areas between Smithfield, Hyde Park, Amalga and Benson

South Jordan

Discharge of fireworks are prohibited in the following areas:

• Within a city or county park or open space, without a permit.

• Within 200 feet of the natural vegetation border of the Bingham Creek open space and trail system.

• Within 200 feet of the western boundary of the natural vegetation border of the Jordan River Parkway open space and trail system and generally extending to the South Jordan City eastern boundary.

• All other areas of South Jordan City within 30 feet of dry vegetation, also including grasses, weeds, or other combustible vegetation.

• Other areas where vegetation is overgrown

South Weber- No fireworks of any kind are allowed in the restricted areas from now until August 1, 2012

Spanish Fork

• The use of fireworks is prohibited in all of the Industrial 3 (I-3) zones
• The use of fireworks is prohibited in all areas south of the Spanish Fork River from the west end of the Spanish Oaks Golf Course, eastwardly to the city limits.
• The use of fireworks is prohibited within 200 feet of any open field, unimproved lot with dry vegetation, or a lot with a vacant building and dry vegetative growth on the lot.

St. George

St. George has engineered an interactive map to help residents determine where they are in relation to the restricted firework areas. Se e map here.

Taylorsville- Taylorsville Mayor Russ Wall has signed an executive order to restrict fireworks.

• Restricted areas include large open spaces, parks, schools, trails, golf courses, and the Jordan River parkway. A 500 foot buffer from these areas needs to be maintained when operating fireworks.
• Additional police officers will be on patrol during the July holidays to make sure fireworks being used are legal. Additional fire crews will also stand ready.
• Taylorsville Dayzz fireworks will still be held this Friday and Saturday. They are done by professionals and fire department personnel will be on hand to make sure there are no problems.

Tooele

• Tooele City is only allowing fireworks within the area between Droubay Road and 1000 West, and 2000 North to Skyline Street. Fireworks are banned outside of that area.
• Other fire restrictions on state, federal, and unincorporated private lands are:
  • Open fires of any kind, except campfires built within the facilities provided for them in improved campgrounds, picnic areas, or permanently improved places of habitation.
  • Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren or cleared to mineral soil.
  • Discharging or using any kind of fireworks, tracer ammunition or other pyrotechnic devices.

Uintah City

• No aerial fireworks within city limits.
• No discharging and using ANY fireworks of all sorts on any City property.
• No setting, building, and maintaining, attending or using open fires of any kind, except within the facilities provided for them in an improved campground, picnic area, or permanently improved place such as outside fire pits, grills, etc.

Vernal

• Fireworks are allowed between 11:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. between July 1 and July 7 and July 21 through July 27. On July 4th and July 24th, the hours of discharge are 11:00 a.m. to midnight.
• Fireworks are allowed only in Vernal City Park located at 500 North 900 West in Vernal. The discharge of fireworks by any individual is restricted to this location at the times listed above.
  • Vineyard Fireworks and open fires are prohibited anywhere in the Town of Vineyard starting June 30, 2012 until further notice. Washington City

• Be aware that each LEGAL sales location in Washington City will have information on restricted discharge areas.
• The use/discharge of any fireworks is prohibited in all areas of Washington located north and/or east of I-15, and all areas south of telegraph and east of Washington Fields Rd. (300 East).

• Washington City has established two locations for residents living in restricted areas to enjoy legal consumer fireworks.
  • The parking lot located between the baseball diamond and the soccer field at the community center
  • The clearly marked area in the parking lot at Pine View Park
• No aerial fireworks may be discharged within the incorporated limits of Washington City including the approved fireworks discharge areas.
• Public fireworks displays are planned in the area for July 4th and July 24th.
• Washington City will provide a public fireworks display on July 24. The display will be held at the Washington City Community Center and will begin around 9:00 PM. We encourage all to come out and enjoy the fireworks and see our beautiful Community Center.

West Jordan

The following restrictions are in place for the duration of the 2012 fireworks season:

• All areas west of U-111 (Bacchus Highway) within the West Jordan City limits.
• All areas within 200' of the Jordan River Parkway Trail east of 1300 West.
• All areas within 200' of the area commonly referred to as "Clay Hollow Wash" that runs east and west in the area of 7800 South. (Approximately 4800 West to U-111.)
• All areas within 200' of Bingham Creek. Located near Old Bingham Highway running the length of the east / west boundaries within West Jordan.

State of Utah approved Class "C" fireworks can only be sold between June 23 - July 27, 2012. You must be at least 16 years old to purchase fireworks. Parents are strongly encouraged to supervise their children while using fireworks. Keep a bucket of water nearby to place spent fireworks in for at least twelve hours before discarding into a garbage can. It is strongly encouraged that smoking materials only be used within the confines of a vehicle within any urban wildland interface area and all waste from the ignition or smoking of said products be disposed of in a safe and appropriate manner.

West Valley

• No fireworks of any kind are allowed in areas west of U-111.
• The discharge of firearms is prohibited throughout the city.

Woodland Hills

• Zero tolerance policy. No fires or fireworks in the city.
