SALT LAKE CITY — One man's trash is another man's treasure; and never has that been more true than during garage sale season.
KSL sent out three veteran garage sale shoppers with $100 each and three hours to find the best loot. Though a friendly competition, it was also fierce, as any garage-sale frequenter may know. The goal of the competition was to learn a thing or two about the art of finding a good bargain.
Watch the video to see how they did, and how their efforts were graded.
A few tips:
- It takes time. You won't necessarily come home with a trunk-full of great finds the first time.
- Start early. The good stuff goes fast.
- Look for potential. What could the purchase be with a coat of paint and a little fixing up? Garage sales are about the experience. Love the thrill of the hunt, and find joy in the process. Otherwise? It IS just junk.
