(KSL News) Two people are in the hospital following a motorcycle accident in East Canyon.

Details are still limited, but officials say the couple were riding their motorcycle up the canyon. They swerved to avoid hitting something and crashed into a pole.

A witness who was driving past saw the motorcycle driver crawling from the bushes. He helped the man while his friend call 911.

The witness, Earth Jacobs, then found a woman stuck in a tree.

Jacobs said, "I started to scream because I didn't know what to do. There was no one stopping. I was trying to stop other people but they were passing and would not stop. So I kind of jumped down and kind of put her foot down and put her neck down and tried to stabilize her until the ambulance came."

Both the man and the woman were taken to the hospital in serious condition. Officials say both were not wearing helmets.
