SALT LAKE CITY — Police agencies across the Salt Lake Valley are working together to solve a string of car vandalism cases.

Early Tuesday morning, more than 100 car windows were shot out several cities across the valley including South Salt Lake, Murray, Taylorsville and Cottonwood Heights; the latter city had the most reported cases.

Vandalism locations and totals
  • Cottonwood Heights City: 30
  • Midvale City (Unified Police): 17
  • Millcreek Township (Unified Police): 16
  • Murray City: 20
  • Sandy City: 5
  • South Salt Lake City: 16
  • Taylorsville City: 20
  • West Jordan City: 9

Investigators say the suspects were using a BB or pellet gun to break the windows. The damage estimates are in the thousands of dollars.

But right now, they have very little information about who may be responsible. If you have any information you think would be helpful to police, call 801-840-4000.
