SALT LAKE CITY — Two boys were hit by a van on Redwood Road Wednesday night, and police say the driver didn't stop.

The accident happened just before 8 p.m. at 784 N. Redwood Road.

According to Salt Lake City officers, the two boys weren't crossing at a crosswalk when they were hit. The van, they say, sideswiped the boys then swerved and hit another vehicle.

Both the boys were taken to the hospital but are expected to be OK. Their injuries consist of a few bumps and bruises and road rash.

There is still a heavy police presence on the scene as investigators try to learn more.

Witnesses say the van continued northbound on Redwood, so police are asking anyone with information to call 801-799-3000.
