MILLCREEK — Police are issuing a warning for recreationists, especially women, in Millcreek Canyon, after a female jogger was confronted by a naked man over the weekend.

Investigators believe it's the fifth time the same man has exposed himself to women hiking or jogging in the canyon.

The latest incident happened Sunday between 11 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., said Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal.

A woman was jogging along the Birch Hollow Trail when a large man came out of hiding from off the trail and stood naked in front of her, he said.

"He just stood up," Hoyal said.

Investigators believe it's the fifth time the same man has exposed himself to women hiking or jogging in the canyon.

The man did not attempt to grab the woman and Hoyal did not believe he said anything to her. But detectives believe it is the fifth time since late May or early June the same man has waited for a woman to approach and flashed her.

By the time police were called and arrived at the scene, the man was gone.

He is described as a white man in his mid-40s between 5- foot-11 and 6 feet tall. Witnesses say the man is "very heavy set" and balding.

Anyone with information about the man can call police at 801-743-7000.
