SALT LAKE CITY -- More than 100 cancer survivors and supporters made their way from Delta to the doors of the Huntsman Cancer Institute Saturday, cycling to beat cancer.
Participants biked a 140-mile, non-competitive ride in an effort to raise money and awareness for cancer research, and to remind cancer survivors that they're not alone in their journey to beat cancer.
"All of the funds raised in this event go directly to cancer research at Huntsman Cancer Institute," said Brooke Hathaway, development manager of events at the Huntsman Cancer Foundation. "More than $51,000 has been raised just through this event alone."
Those participating in the Huntsman 140 were made up of individual and relay team cyclist.
