SANDY -- Police released the video Tuesday of a man who jumped out the window of a moving patrol car on Interstate 15.

Nicholas Duffy, 20, was arrested on outstanding warrants and suspicion of burglary. But while they were driving him to the Salt Lake County Jail, Duffy complained of feeling ill and said he was going to vomit, Sgt. Troy Arnold said.

An officer lowered a rear window slightly, then noticed minutes later that Duffy, with his hands cuffed behind his back, had unbuckled himself and was trying to escape. The vehicle had slowed to about 30 mph when he jumped out near 5000 South on the freeway, Arnold said.

Duffy, who suffered only minor injuries, was quickly taken back into custody and transported to a local hospital where he remained late Saturday.
