American Fork Wants to Regulate Sexually Explicit Businesses
June 28th, 2007 @ 3:07pm

Randall Jeppesen, KSL Newsradio

American Fork city leaders are working on a sexually oriented business law after learning a lingerie store was opening up on Main Street.

Chris Hobson's store is called The Husband and Wife Intimacy Boutique, and what he says it is not is sexually explicit. "And our concept was developed from us just not wanting to have to put on the blinders every time we go and try to find some romantic items," Hobson explains.

He says there's no back room and no naughty pictures, but even with a tame store it's prompted the city to draft an ordinance regulating sexually explicit businesses. "I think it's a wonderful idea. I think there needs to be regulation," Hobson says.

Hobson says the purpose of the store is to have a place for husbands and wives to buy intimate apparel without feeling embarrassed by pictures or other items.
