PROVIDENCE, Cache County -- Two brothers died Saturday after the boys' 18-year-old sister lost control of the car she was driving and slid into oncoming traffic.

At 11:30 a.m., a Honda Civic was traveling north on state Route 165 near 1670 South when the vehicle spun out of control and was T-boned by an oncoming Chevy Malibu, according to Utah Highway Patrol trooper Amy Fallows.

Three children, ranging in ages between 7 and 12, were sitting in the backseat. Seven-year-old M'Gwire Ferguson was killed, and his 10-year-old brother, Bridger, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Bridger died Saturday night from injuries sustained in the crash.

Ashlyn Ferguson, 18, and 9-year-old Savanah Ferguson sustained minor injuries.

The siblings are from Mendon.

The driver of the Malibu, a 53-year-old woman from Hyrum, also sustained only minor injuries.

Fallows said all of the siblings were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, with the exception of M'Gwire. She said it is unknown whether he was wearing a seat belt or not, but noted he was sitting in the rear, center seat of the vehicle.

She said the snowy road conditions "definitely" played a role in the accident, which is still under investigation.
