(KSL News) Some Utahns went door to door today trying to raise support for presidential hopeful Barack Obama.
Misty Fowler is chairperson of Utah for Obama. She said, "We are canvassing the neighborhoods, letting people know about Barack Obama, giving them the opportunity to volunteer for the campaign and letting us know what's on their mind."
The "Walk for Change" is a grassroots campaign to rally support for Obama. Walks were also held in Utah County and St. George. More than 10,000 supporters participated in the event nationwide.
And, it appears Obama can use all the support he can get.
In an AP Poll, 1,000 Americans were asked, "If the 2008 Presidential primary's were held today, who would you vote for?"
Twenty-one percent said they would vote for Obama, while 33 percent said they would vote for Senator Hillary Clinton. Only 12 percent said they would vote for John Edwards.
When asked the same question for Republican candidates, 27 percent said former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani would be their choice, followed by John McCain and Fred Thompson. Just 10 percent said they would vote for Mitt Romney.
