Obama Supporters to Canvass in Utah This Weekend
June 8th, 2007 @ 12:13pm

Mary Richards, KSL Newsradio

One Democratic presidential candidate hopes to gain more support in Utah through a grassroots effort this weekend. Barack Obama's people will go door-to-door.

Misty Fowler shows all the Obama stickers, fliers and T-shirts for Saturday's "Walk for Change." She's the chairperson of Utah for Obama, and says dozens of his supporters will go two-by-two through the Sugar House neighborhood. But don't call them Obama missionaries. "I think a lot of us will be wearing jeans, you know, it's going to be a casual type of thing, so hopefully we won't get that mixed up."

Other groups will canvass Utah County and St. George at the same time as groups across the nation hit the streets. They'll talk to people and report that feedback to Obama's campaign office.
