CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) -- Utah's award-winning Shakespeare festival is shortening its name and adopting a new logo for its 50th anniversary year.
Festival chief R. Scott Phillips said in a news release that the name change from Utah Shakespearean Festival to Utah Shakespeare Festival more clearly reflects the event history and organizational mission.
He says that while plays from around the world will still be featured at the Cedar City venue, the works of Shakespeare will remain the festival cornerstone.
Festival founder Fred C. Adams says the subtly changed logo will be easier to read on posters and billboards.
