June 7th, 2007 @ 7:19am

(KSL News) A man charged with selling stolen identities to illegal immigrants has pleaded guilty.

Eleuterio Gutierrez admitted to one count of the sale of citizenship papers and two counts of aggravated identity theft.

He faces a maximum of 14 years in prison and up to $500,000 in fines.

Gutierrez and another person, Veronica Carrillo of Logan, were accused of selling citizenship papers to employees of the Swift meat packing plant in Hyrum. Last December, 145 alleged illegal immigrants were arrested at the plant as part of a nationwide immigration raid.
