(KSL News) A Centerville police officer has quit his job after being accused of assaulting his wife and 5-year-old daughter.
Sergeant John Spencer faces charges including felony child abuse, felony aggravated assault and domestic violence in the presence of a child.
Spencer resigned from the force yesterday.
The Centerville chief of police said Spencer had been on the force for 16 years and had recently experienced "marital problems."
