SALT LAKE CITY -- Attorneys for murder suspect Curtis Allgier want their client's tattoos hidden from the jury during his trial.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports the attorneys filed a court motion late last month saying they want to hide Allgier's head-to-toe tattoos so the jury won't have a negative impression and their client can get a fair trial.

Allgier's tattoos include the words "skin head" above his eyebrows and swastikas above, to the left and right of his nose. The court motion seeks to cover the ink on his face, head, neck and hands, but doesn't say how that should be done.

Allgier is charged with fatally shooting 60-year-old corrections officer Stephen Anderson while at the University of Utah for a medical exam in June 2007. Allgier was a prison inmate at the time.

No trial dates have been set.
