SALT LAKE CITY -- Family, friends and comrades joined at the State Capitol to honor fallen law enforcement officers.
The names of Millard County Sheriff's Deputy Josie Greathouse Fox and Deputy U.S. Marshal Joseph C. Akin were added to the Utah Law Enforcement Memorial Thursday.
Deputy Akin died in 1915 while serving a federal murder warrant in Bluff.
Deputy Fox was killed in January while investigating a suspected drug deal. Her family says the memorial helps them heal.
"It helps ease the pain a little bit just knowing that everyone else will remember her as well," said Sandi Greathouse, sister of Deputy Fox.
The memorial service is an annual event.
