Court of Appeals Considing Injunction Against the LDS Church
March 22nd, 2007 @ 11:15am

Andrew Adams, KSL Newsradio

A father is looking for an injunction against the LDS Church. He says his sons were ordained by the LDS Church against his wishes. Now his lawsuit to stop this from happening to anyone else is before the Utah Court of Appeals.

The court is expected to make a decision after reviewing the case. Basically, Michael Gulbraa wants an injunction to keep the church from doing this after he never received the written apology he'd asked for.

An attorney for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints says this has more to do with a custody dispute between Gulbraa and a former wife. He says it was that woman who wanted Gulbraa's two boys to receive the ordinances in Japan.

Gulbraa's attorney says he has sole legal custody, and his kids' religious upbringing is his choice.
