(KSL News) A Utah State University professor is accused of trying to arrange a sexual encounter with a 13-year-old girl.
Police say 50-year-old Tilak Dhiman starting talking to the girl in an internet chat room. But that girl actually was an undercover officer. Officers say he talked about having sex with her and arranged to meet her when her parents weren't home.
The Deseret Morning News reports a decoy agent met Dhiman on March 15 and he was arrested.
Dhiman, an associate professor of dairy and nutrition, was released pending charges of coercion of a minor. He will enter his plea next week.
