SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah's Sierra Club Tuesday praised the Environmental Protection Agency for tightening the rules that limit ozone.
"Sierra Club is very excited to the see the EPA taking the advice of over 1,700 scientific studies that say we need stricter ozone limits to protect our health and our environment," said Claire Jones of the Utah Sierra Club.
Sierra Clubs across the country gathered for an "Ozone Day of Action." It's an issue that plagues Utah's air.
The EPA's rules would place new limits on ozone from 75 parts per billion to 60 - 70 parts per billion. According to the Sierra Club, that would put six Utah counties in "non-attainment" by 2020.
