ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (AP) — Qualifying for the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Road America has been cancelled due to wet track conditions.

Rain fell overnight and into the morning.

Ben Rhodes was awarded the pole because he had the fastest speed from the first of two practice sessions held at the rural Wisconsin road course on Friday. He got to 108.500 mph.

Chase Elliott, Rhodes' JR Motorsports teammate who is third in the series points standings, will start in the second position after a practice run of 108.133 mph, followed by Ryan Blaney, who recorded a 108.040 mph lap.

Series points leaders Chris Buescher will start in the sixth spot.

The 45-lap, 180-mile race is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
