TOKYO (AP) — Tokyo Olympic organizers have signed up Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation as the first domestic sponsor of the 2020 Games.

NTT, which provided a variety of telecommunications services for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, will be the organizing committee's official telecommunications services partner.

Tokyo organizers and NTT did not release financial terms of the deal.

NTT is the largest telecommunications company in the world in terms of revenue. Established as a government-owned corporation in 1952, NTT was privatized in 1985 to encourage competition in the telecom market.

Tokyo's domestic sponsorships are separate from the global TOP sponsorship program run by the International Olympic Committee. Japanese tire manufacturer Bridgestone and Panasonic are among worldwide sponsors.
