BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Atletico Madrid fought back for a 2-1 win at third-division side Reus in their opening match of the Copa del Rey on Tuesday.

Reus' fans burst into celebration after half an hour when Fran Carbia pressured defender Lucas Fernandez into losing the ball before he put it past goalkeeper Miguel Moya. Both Fernandez and Moya were making their first appearances this season.

The hosts' lead, however, lasted only seven minutes before striker Luciano Vietto headed home Oliver Torres' pass.

Torres then provided a corner kick for Saul Niguez to head over goalkeeper Edgar Badia, who got a hand on the ball but couldn't keep it out of his net in the 63rd.

"The tie is close, this isn't a comfortable result," Atletico coach Diego Simeone said. "Reus is a competitive, well-organized side. You can see that in the result."

Also, 10-man Granada lost 2-1 at second-division side Leganes, but Fran Rico's second-half strike gives the topflight team an away goal for the second leg.

Guillermo Fernandez opened the scoring and Omar Ramos added a second goal for Leganes after Granada's Ruben Perez earned a direct red card in the 23rd when his arm apparently hit an opposing player in the face.

"We were really bad in the first half," Rico said. "I take away our second half when we played with more focus and got the goal we needed."

The return legs of the round-of-32 series will be in two weeks.
