LA Kings sign Russian D Damir Sharipzyanov to 3-year deal

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) — The Los Angeles Kings have signed defenseman Damir Sharipzyanov to a three-year contract.

The Kings announced the deal Thursday.

Sharipzyanov had nine goals and 25 assists in 66 games with the Ontario Hockey League's Owen Sound Attack last season.

The 19-year-old from Nizhnekamsk, Russia, has spent the past two seasons with Owen Sound, scoring 50 points and appearing in 10 postseason games.
