CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Charlotte Hornets center Al Jefferson suffered an injury to his left leg in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks, with team officials calling his return "doubtful."
Jefferson suffered a left calf strain with 5:09 remaining in the first quarter. He hobbled off the court, favoring his left leg, and was replaced by Cody Zeller.
Jefferson had scored just one point on 1 of 2 shooting from the free-throw line, and pulled down one rebound in seven minutes.
In his 10th NBA season and third with the Hornets, Jefferson had been averaging 14.5 points and 6.1 rebounds a game.
