METAIRIE, La. (AP) — The New Orleans Pelicans say they have signed 7-foot center Jerome Jordan.

The Pelicans announced the move Sunday with centers Omer Asik (right calf) and Alexis Ajinca (right hamstring) dealing with injuries.

Jordan played in 44 games last season for the Brooklyn Nets, averaging 3.1 points and 2.4 rebounds in 8.7 minutes. He began his NBA career in 2010, when Milwaukee selected him in the second round out of Tulsa.

Jordan has appeared in 65 career regular-season NBA games. He also has played in the NBA Development League and overseas.

New Orleans plays its next preseason game Monday night in Chicago.
