OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Chicago Bulls leading scorer Jimmy Butler is sitting out against the Golden State Warriors because of an illness.
Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said before Tuesday night's game that the shooting guard was at the arena but unable to play. Butler also missed the morning shootaround with the illness.
Butler is averaging career highs of 20.1 points, six rebounds and 3.3 assists this season. Butler's absence adds to Chicago's challenge of containing the Warriors' backcourt of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
