PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Philadelphia 76ers have selected Syracuse forward Jerami Grant with the 39th pick of the NBA draft.

Grant averaged 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds for the Orange. He comes from an accomplished basketball family that includes his uncle, four-time NBA champion Horace Grant.

Grant was the second of five scheduled second-round picks for the Sixers. They also had the Nos. 47, 52 and 54 overall picks.

The Sixers also selected Kansas center Joel Embiid with the third overall pick in the draft and dealt the rights to No. 10 pick Elfrid Payton of Louisiana-Lafayette to Orlando for the rights of Croatia's Dario Saric, who the Magic selected at No. 12. They drafted Clemson forward K.J. Daniels with the 32nd overall pick.
