COLLEGE BASKETBALL-NCAA TOURNAMENT
NCAA tournament resumes
UNDATED (AP) — Dayton's surprising run in the NCAA men's basketball tournament will continue into the regional finals.
Jordan Sibert (SY'-burt) scored 18 points and Kendall Pollard added a season-high 12 to lead the 11th-seeded Flyers to an 82-72 win over No. 10 Stanford in the South Regional. Sibert finished 7 of 12 from the field, including 4 of 9 from 3-point range. He nailed a 3-pointer from the corner to give Dayton a 42-29 lead late in the first half.
Dayton is in the Elite Eight for the first time in 30 years.
No. 2 Wisconsin advanced to Saturday's West Regional final as Frank Kaminsky scored 19 points in a 69-52 victory against Baylor. Ben Brust hit three 3-pointers and scored 14 points for the Badgers, who jumped to a 14-point lead in the first half and reached the Elite Eight for the second time in 13 years under Bo Ryan.
COLLEGE BASKETBALL-SYRACUSE-ENNIS
Ennis going pro
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Syracuse freshman point guard Tyler Ennis has announced his intention to put his name in the 2014 NBA Draft, saying he feels the experience at Syracuse has helped prepare him to fulfill a lifelong dream to play in the NBA. Ennis finished second on the Orange in scoring at 12.9 points per game and averaged 5.5 assists.

Record contract for Miggy
UNDATED (AP) — The Detroit Tigers just made Miguel Cabrera a very happy slugger.
A person with knowledge of the deal says the Tigers have agreed to pay Cabrera a baseball-record $292 million over the next 10 years.
Cabrera is due $44 million over the final two years from his $152.3 million, eight-year contract, and the person says Cabrera will make $248 million over eight seasons in the new deal that begins in 2016.
Cabrera has been voted AL MVP in each of the last two seasons and won the Triple Crown in 2012.
In other major league news:
— Left fielder Starling Marte and the Pittsburgh Pirates have finalized their $31 million, six-year contract. Marte hit .280 with 12 homers, 35 RBIs and a team-high 41 steals last year, his first full season in the majors.
— The Seattle Mariners have signed right-handed starter Chris Young to a major league deal for the 2014 season in the hopes of solidifying the back end of the rotation. The 34-year-old had been in spring training with Washington, making two starts and giving up four earned runs in 10 1-3 innings pitched.
— Right-hander Johnny Cueto (KWAY'-toh) has been named the starting pitcher for Cinncinati's season opener against St. Louis Monday. It's the third straight year he's earned the opening day assignment.

Blazers win with Aldridge
UNDATED (AP) — The Portland Trail Blazers welcomed back LaMarcus Aldridge after going 3-4 during his absence.
Aldridge had 25 points and 16 rebounds in his return from a back injury to lead the Trail Blazers' past Atlanta 100-85. Damian Lillard added 21 points for the Trail Blazers, who had lost seven of their previous 10 and were in danger of falling out of the fifth spot in the Western Conference standings.
Jeff Teague had 22 points for the Hawks, who've dropped five in a row and lead New York by just 1 1/2 games in the race for the final Eastern Conference playoff berth.

B's blank Hawks
UNDATED (AP) — The Boston Bruins won a rematch of last year's Stanley Cup finals while moving closer to clinching home-ice advantage throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Patrice Bergeron (pah-TREES' BEHR'-zhur-ahn) scored twice and Tuukka (TOO'-kah) Rask stopped 28 shots as the Bruins won for the 13th time in 14 games, 3-0 over the Chicago Blackhawks. It was a 1-0 game until Carl Soderberg and Bergeron scored 13 seconds apart early in the third period.
Rask made 11 saves in the final period to secure his league-leading seventh shutout of the season and 23rd of his career.
The outcome gives the East-leading Bruins a nine-point lead over Pittsburgh.
The Penguins were 3-2 losers to Los Angeles as Drew Doughty scored the game-winner in the third period after the Kings blew a 2-0 lead in the second. Jeff Carter and Alex Martinez also scored for the Kings.

— Tomas Plekanec (pleh-KAH'-nehts) scored twice and Montreal picked up its fourth straight win by downing Detroit 5-4. The Canadiens squandered a 3-1 lead in the third period before Max Pacioretty (pash-uh-RET'-ee) and Thomas Vanek scored 5 ½ minutes apart.
— Ryan Callahan scored twice and Sami Salo (SAM'-ee SAL'-oh) provided Tampa Bay's fifth and final shootout goal in a 3-2 win over the New York Islanders. Ben Bishop stopped 25 shots to help the Lightning stay two points behind second-place Montreal in the Atlantic Division.
— Mikkel Boedker scored the lone shootout goal and Phoenix enhanced its playoff hopes by downing New Jersey 3-2. Kyle Chipchura and Chris Summers each had a goal and an assist for the Coyotes, who own a five-point lead over Dallas for the final Western Conference playoff berth.
Jiri Tlusty (tuh-LOOS'-tee) scored twice and Anton Khudobin (kuh-DOH'-bihn) made 35 saves in Carolina's 3-0 shutout of Florida.

Ryan is done for the season
OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) — Ottawa's top goal scorer, Bobby Ryan, will miss the rest of the season because of a sports hernia. General manager Bryan Murray says Ryan has been dealing with the injury since November.
NFL-COLTS OWNER ARRESTED
Irsay had cash stash
UNDATED (AP) — Colts owner Jim Irsay had $29,000 in cash and bottles of prescription drugs in his vehicle when he was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving and other charges, according to the arrest report.
The cash was in Irsay's wallet, metal briefcase and two laundry bags. The briefcase and bags also contained bottles of pills of various colors, the police report states.
The 54-year-old Irsay has denied being drunk when he was arrested in suburban Carmel on March 16. But the police report states the billionaire was so disoriented that officers made him sit on the hood of a patrol car to keep him from falling.

— Free agent running back Knowshon Moreno has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Miami Dolphins. The five-year veteran is coming off his best season, rushing for 1,038 yards, catching 60 passes and scoring 13 touchdowns playing with Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.
— Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Domata Peko has agreed to a two-year contract extension that runs through the 2016 season. Peko started all 16 games and a playoff loss to San Diego last season, recording 72 tackles and had a career-high three sacks.
— Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice has been indicted on a charge he assaulted his fiancee during an argument. Rice had been charged with simple assault after police said he knocked out Janay Palmer on Feb. 15 in an elevator at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City. But a grand jury indicted him on a more serious count of aggravated assault, which carries a three-to-five-year sentence.

Perez sets early pace
SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Pat Perez birdied the final three holes on the way to 4-under 68 that gives him a tie for the clubhouse lead at the Texas Open. Danny Lee also fired a 68 to pull even with Perez, one shot ahead of Seung-Yul Noh and Will McKenzie, Cameron Beckman and Chesson Hadley.
The start of the tournament was delayed about three hours by fog, and 45 players were on the course when play was suspended due to darkness.
TENNIS-KEY BISCAYNE
Williams beats Sharapova again
KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. (AP) — Serena Williams beat Maria Sharapova for the 15th consecutive time, rallying in both sets to win 6-4, 6-3 in the Sony Open semifinals. Williams rallied from deficits of 4-1 in the first set and 2-0 in the second to get within one match victory of her record seventh Key Biscayne title. Sharapova hasn't defeated Williams since 2004.
Rafael Nadal and Tomas Berdych reached the men's semifinals at Key Biscayne.
