ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) — The Oakland Raiders have upgraded defensive back TJ Carrie to questionable for their game Sunday against Denver.

He originally had been designated as out for the game before the Raiders made the change Saturday.

Oakland also promoted safety Tevin McDonald from the practice squad and released safety Taylor Mays.

Carrie has been starting at safety in place of injured Nate Allen and is a key member of Oakland's secondary. He began the year as a starting cornerback.

Carrie hurt his chest last Sunday against Chicago returning a punt and did not practice all week.
