DETROIT (AP) — Chicago Bears safety Chris Conte left Thursday's game against the Detroit Lions in the first quarter with an eye injury.

The initial announcement in the press box was that Conte was being evaluated for a concussion, but early in the second half his injury was announced as an eye problem.

The 25-year-old Conte dealt with concussion problems earlier this year, and he missed a game last month with a shoulder issue. He has three interceptions this season and nine in his four-year career.

Chicago defensive end Cornelius Washington also left with a chest injury and will not return.
