NEW YORK (AP) — Sheldon McClellan scored 12 of his 16 points in the second half, and Miami rallied to beat Temple 60-57 to reach the NIT championship game. The 'Canes will play Stanford, which raced out to a 25-4 lead and held off Old Dominion 67-60, in Thursday's NIT title game.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. The Seminoles star threw passes for nearly an hour, demonstrating arm strength, accuracy and stamina while drawing cheers from the hundreds on hand.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Rick Barnes is moving from one shade of orange to another. The recently deposed Texas basketball coach has landed on his feet as the head coach at Tennessee where he gets a six-year deal paying $2.25 million a year.

NEW YORK (AP) — Chris Mullin is coming home to St. John's. The Red Storm is confirming their career scoring leader and the player who led them to the 1985 Final Four is returning as coach where he will be introduced at a Wednesday press conference.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma City star Kevin Durant has undergone his third foot surgery in less than a year, a successful bone graft surgery for a fracture in his right foot. The reigning NBA MVP is expected to return to full basketball activities in four to six months. Durant is the Thunder's leading scorer and rebounder.
